A new start for Aube-based ACCESS GROUP, now MGG Industries
In late 2021, the company located in Pont-sur-Seine embarked on a new chapter with the creation of the entity MGG Industries, led by Alban Verger.
A Company That Successfully Rebounded in 2022
Hired as the Sales Director in 2021, Alban Verger then faced the judicial reorganization of the company. At the end of the year, he decided to acquire the assets of ACCESS GROUP and create MGG Industries.
“It would have been a shame to shut everything down when the company had good tools and a workforce with skills and expertise,” commented the current CEO.
Today, 63 employees work at the 11,000 m2 site in Pont-sur-Seine. The company also has a second industrial site in Fameck and an engineering office in Reims. To successfully take over the company and its operations, it was necessary to upgrade the production facilities and restore confidence among employees. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, including plastic injection, Zamak foundry, stamping, laser cutting, CN sheet metal folding and punching, surface treatment (galvanizing), assembly, packaging, and a new logistics offering. “We have the capability to manufacture fairly complex products, which we cut, fold, machine, and galvanize. This is a real added value because we are among the last to make somewhat specific products on demand,” explained Alban Verger. The factory operates 50% for the Tonna brand and 50% for external clients in industrial subcontracting. The Tonna brand has been on the market for nearly 80 years. It is the last brand manufacturing TV reception, access control, and intercom systems in France. “MGG Industries is a major player in equipping French prisons with TV reception. Tonna is a significant driver for the company, accounting for 2/3 of our turnover, €7 million in 2022,” illustrated Alban Verger.
A New Offering to Reach New Markets
The Aubois site, built just 10 years ago, features a high-tech logistics warehouse. Everything has been racked with 5,000 pallet spaces, of which 3,000 are available, an assembly workshop, packaging, and picking. An additional 1,000 m2 of floor space is also available. “The goal with this logistics activity, open to external clients, is to diversify the activities as much as possible to ensure the company’s sustainability,” commented the CEO. MGG Industries has production capacity and warehouse availability. Today, the working tools are functional, and the site is in compliance. The company recently invested in a machining center and will soon acquire a fiber laser cutting table. It received assistance from the Grand Est Region thanks to the FEDER plan.
“I received help from various organizations, including the Grand Est Region, BPI, BPALC, and the economic development agency Business Sud Champagne. We are well supported: it is thanks to this support that I was able to take over the activities of the ACCESS GROUP company,” stated Alban Verger.
Today, the CEO aims to increase MGG Industries’ visibility to gain new markets.
