Local players in the wood industry launch the “Pôle Bois Sud Champagne” cluster

The actors of the Wood sector in Sud Champagne are coming together to form a collective around the Wood sector. This initiative, led by Business Sud Champagne, is driven by the companies and actors of the Wood ecosystem in the region and their partners.

WHY THIS INITIATIVE?

The creation of this Pole arises from several observations when discussing the Wood sector:

• This sector – and its specificities in the Sud Champagne region – is not well-known among decision-makers, job seekers, youth, and the general public.
• The Wood sector is subject to prejudices and can sometimes have a negative image.
• The Wood sector is undergoing technical, economic, and environmental changes and must evolve through collectively built solutions.

Based on these observations, companies and actors in the region decided to come together and exchange ideas locally about the Wood sector. The mobilization and energy felt have made it possible to envision the creation of the “Pôle Bois Sud Champagne” and formalize this collective.

WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES?

The “Pôle Bois Sud Champagne” has multiple objectives, with the primary goal of changing the image of the sector by giving it more visibility to attract new talents and increase its added value in the region. It will also address the sector’s challenges by building operational solutions that strengthen businesses. This Pole will also structure the Wood sector’s territorial offering to bring forth new activities (innovation, diversification, establishment). This new dynamic will also stimulate the training and recruitment of new employees. Lastly, the creation of such a Pole aims to promote and highlight the region, people, and professions related to Wood through communication and the promotion of the sector and its actors.

A STRONG INAUGURAL ACTION IN THE REGION

The official launch of the “Pôle Bois Sud Champagne” took place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, during the open day at the Crogny Forest High School. Wood sector actors were present to showcase their professions and the sector while engaging with the attending families. This event, beyond presenting the collective, its ambition, and the challenges ahead, represents a strong sign of synergy among different partners. The visual identity of the Pole was unveiled on this occasion with the logo being revealed.
