A wealth of artistic treasures at your fingertips thanks to the Centre pour l’UNESCO Louis François in Troyes
In its commitment to support and promote economic development in the region, Business Sud Champagne recently met with the team at the Centre for UNESCO Louis François in Troyes and discovered the wonderful Art Library (Artothèque) housed within the association’s premises. This unique heritage holds significant value for the region.
Established in 1878, this association, which is unique in France, aims to carry out activities for children and young people to educate them about culture and the preservation of the historical and natural heritage through UNESCO’s values.
Their main missions include inscribing and promoting childhood and youth in the memory of humanity, offering educational, cultural, and artistic activities, and providing every child in the world with the opportunity to participate in a creative project. Approximately 150 countries participate each year in the international visual arts competition “Graines d’artistes,” created in 1994 by the association. This competition is open to all children and young people aged 3 to 25 who wish to express their talent.
Among all the participants, 100 winners are awarded a medal and a diploma, and all artists have the honor of being included in the artistic collection of the artothèque. This artothèque, titled “Mémoires du futur” (Memories of the Future), now contains over 104,000 works created using various techniques (oil painting, watercolor, pencils, etc.).
