Aymeric MAGNE, Executive Chairman of ESTAC, new Chairman of Business Sud Champagne
On 13 January, the directors of Business Sud Champagne met in the presence of Jean Rottner, President of the Grand Est Region and François Baroin, President of Troyes Champagne Métropole, to appoint Jean-Michel Soufflet’s successor as President of Business Sud Champagne.
Business Sud Champagne, a shared tool for the economic development of Sud Champagne
Business Sud Champagne, an economic development and attractiveness agency, was created in November 2018 under the impetus of its 5 founding members: the Grand Est Region, Troyes Champagne Métropole, the Chaumont Conurbation and the CCIs of Aube and Meuse Haute-Marne.
Its aim is to strengthen the economic fabric of the Sud-Champagne region (southern Haute-Marne and the Aube département) by building on the potential of existing core businesses and by increasing the number of companies setting up outside the region.
Over the past 3 years, which constitute phase 1 of its existence, under the impetus of Jean-Michel Soufflet and his director Valérie Schwarz, Business Sud Champagne has gradually established itself in the socio-economic landscape by deploying its main strategic priorities.
Jean-Michel Soufflet, emblematic Chairman from 2018 to date
Jean-Michel Soufflet, former Chairman of the Soufflet group in Nogent sur Seine (trading and processing of agri-food products – 7,000 employees, €5bn turnover) has announced his intention to resign as Chairman of BSC following the sale of his group to In Vivo in December 2021.
He had been Chairman of BSC since its creation in November 2018.
Jean-Michel Soufflet, and through him the Soufflet Group, symbolise an immense local family success story and the passing down over several generations since 1900 of a company that has never ceased to grow, both in France and internationally. Jean-Michel Soufflet has brought to BSC the perspective of the head of a multinational company with a presence on 4 continents, but which is also rooted in the Nogent area, where it has always maintained its head office and most of its administrative staff.
It helped us to understand objectively how our region is perceived from the outside and what could be the keys to its attractiveness.
Aymeric MAGNE, a new Chairman to step up the momentum
Aymeric Magne, Executive Chairman and CEO of ESTAC, has been nominated and approved by the Board of Directors of Business Sud Champagne as the successor to Jean-Michel Soufflet.
Aymeric Magne has a wealth of experience at national and international level, having worked on projects for Colony Capital, Lagardère and Disney, among others. He will provide a strategic complement to the players already involved with Business Sud Champagne.
The Executive Chairman of ESTAC also has similar experience on the Board of Directors of GIE France Sports Expertise and as a French-Brazilian Foreign Trade Advisor, which have contributed to the economic development of subsidiaries and territories in France and abroad.
Through his work at ESTAC (a club belonging to the City Football Group, a multinational company that owns Premier League club Manchester City), he has developed an accelerated understanding of the network and the challenges facing the region. He will bring his vision, dynamism and network to capitalise on the work achieved by BSC since its creation, and will act as a development accelerator to give it a new dimension.
