Europrod sets up in Sud Champagne
24/03/2022 Press conference with the project leaders and their main supporters: Aube departmental council, Bar-sur-Aube town council and Business Sud Champagne.
A real industry and farm of the future solutions network in South Champagne
Europrod – founded by Soverency, an innovative investment platform, and Dotvision, an expert in IoT for the civil, industrial and government sectors – will design, develop and produce communicating IoT sensors in Bar-sur-Aube. Eventually, a data storage project will complete the industrial installation.
The IoT enables cities, buildings, infrastructures and agricultural or woodland areas to make industrial goods communicative. This means, for example, better management of water and energy consumption, predictive maintenance of machinery and buildings, optimisation of the supply chain and transport of goods, and support for responsible farming. IoT sensors detect, measure and transmit data, reporting on the real environment around them. This data must be relevant if it is to be exploited. Today, most of these sensors are produced in Asia, and the data is stored in clouds all over the world.
Europrod’s aim is to use these new technologies to help build a more secure Industry 4.0, improve production capacity in France and establish new value chains in the regions.
This is a genuine regional development project, and the first industrial regeneration operation initiated by Soverency in France.
The Europrod project in Sud Champagne
In autumn 2022, the first production line will be operational in a workshop leased by Europrod in Bar-sur-Aube. A dedicated building, constructed by the SIABA, will then be delivered within 24 months. At the same time, work has already begun on developing IoT solutions for local players. The aim is to bring technology to users’ doorsteps.
The project is expected to create 10/15 jobs within 18/24 months, then between 50 and 150 (ranging from vocational baccalaureates to engineers and PhDs) within 5 years, depending on the speed of deployment in the region. The Business Sud Champagne economic development agency has been working with the Europrod team since the very beginning of the project to help it set up and expand in Aube.
