Garnica officially launches construction of the Group’s 7th plant in Troyes
Garnica, the world leader in poplar wood plywood, commenced the construction of its 7th factory on the Grand Troyes Business Park on January 28, 2020.
To mark the start of the factory’s construction, Garnica opted for a symbolic gesture by planting a poplar tree in place of the traditional first stone. This event was presided over by Pedro Garnica, the founder and President of the Spanish Group.
The factory will be constructed in multiple phases, with the first phase set to be operational by mid-2021, employing around forty workers. Its full expansion will cover an area of 40,000 square meters. Garnica’s installation will occur gradually, initially focusing on the setup of a unrolling and drying line. Subsequently, its capacity will be doubled, incorporating pressing and the production of finished products.
The choice of locating on the Grand Troyes Business Park is not arbitrary for Garnica. It is justified by the proximity to the raw material sources, with poplar forests in the Seine Valley, the Aube Valley, and the Northeast of France.
