Could you briefly introduce yourself?
“My name is Cyril PLA and I’ve been working for the Vingeanne group for 5 years. I studied for 5 years at the ENIM mechanical engineering school in Metz. At the end of my course, I specialised in Transport and Logistics at the CFTAL with a BAC+3. I then joined the Vingeanne group for a year and a half as Operations Manager at the STS-EROB hauliers in Morhange, followed by another year and a half in the same position, but for our PLF International branch in Combs-la-Ville. Today, I’m back at head office in Haute-Marne as Project Manager for the Vingeanne group. I now work alongside my brother, who has the same training as me, and my father, who took over the family business set up by my grandfather in 1976.
Can you tell us about the history of your company?
“The Vingeanne Group was founded in 1976 by my grandfather, who was soon joined by my grandmother to assist him with the administrative and accounting side of the business. My father joined them 3 years later, when he was 16. From 1987 onwards, he unofficially ran the company, officially taking over in 1992. In 1998, my father built the first logistics warehouse to expand the business. The company has also grown through acquisition, the first being Transports Chenot in 2006 and PLF Internationale in which we took a 100% stake in 2017.”
What can you tell us about the Vingeanne Group’s business?
“The Vingeanne group has a number of different branches and activities. We have our branch in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur in the Côte-d’Or, which carries out chartering activities, and PLF Internationale in the 77, which specialises in distribution in the Paris region, as well as in fine logistics and e-commerce for textiles, CDs and vinyl. Finally, the head office in Haute-Marne handles the bulk of the transport business, with distribution for the whole of the north-east of France, as well as the Paris region, part of the Rhône-Alpes region and regular routes to Italy. The head office also handles industrial logistics and fine e-commerce logistics for textiles, DVDs and new and second-hand books.
